I’m Mel and I’m multipassionate, which means I'm constantly exploring new topics: creativity, nature, health, finance, art, spirituality.

I used to see this as a problem, but I've learned it's actually a strength. It helps me see patterns and connections that make the framework work for different types of people and projects. I'm naturally drawn to both the analytical and emotional sides of how our minds work - the research and the human experience.

I've given workshops on everything from sourdough bread to working with our multipassionate nature. My favorite part has always been facilitating human encounters and watching projects blossom as a result.

But despite loving that work, I kept getting stuck on my own projects. Constantly.

I'd start something I cared about, work on it for a bit, then... freeze. I'd spend more time thinking about it than doing it. I tried pushing harder, being stricter with myself, but I'd just crash and end up back where I started.

It was frustrating because I knew I cared. So what was the problem?

I did what I always do when something doesn't make sense: I researched. This time, my curiosity led me to explore neuroscience-informed approaches and learn about the nervous system. I learned from various teachers around the globe - with a special focus on meditation - and stayed in meditation centres, ashrams, and temples for long retreats. I also had many conversations and interviews with other people stuck in similar patterns.

And slowly, I realized - I wasn't lazy or broken. I was just working against myself instead of with myself.

That realization changed everything. I started experimenting with different approaches, understanding both the practical and the internal sides of getting unstuck - the nervous system responses, the creative blocks, the conditions we actually need to work. I built tools that honored all of that instead of overriding it.

The Unstuck Lab came out of that process. I created it because I didn't want other people to spend years stuck in the same cycles I was in.

As your guide, I'm not here to show you THE way. I'm here to help you find your way - by sharing research-based tools that work with your nervous system and creativity, and helping you save time in the learning process. You know your project better than anyone. I'm just here to help you stop getting in your own way and unlock what you're actually capable of.

Resistance: The source of creative procrastination and how to tackle it

Being with real people who warm us, who endorse and exalt our creativity, is essential to the flow of creative life. Otherwise we freeze. Nurture is a chorus of voices both from within and without that notices the state of a woman(man)'s being, takes care to encourage it, and if neccesarym gives comfort as well.
